Roots of Adventure

These pages share the lessons born from early travels, where every sunrise offered a new perspective and every road taught a little more about who we become.

Each chapter will include moments that are shaped by stories told to me, or by my own memories and experiences as the story develops. As a baby at the beginning of the tale when the group first banded together, this telling will be its own patchwork quilt.

A classic, patchwork quilt spread over a rounded wooden stump, each fabric square bursting with different bright patterns—florals, geometric shapes, and swirling paisleys. The setting is a sun-dappled woodland clearing, shafts of sunlight drifting through leafy tree branches and casting irregular, playful shadows across the quilt’s surface. A few scattered acorns and a colorful feather rest on the trunk’s rim. The composition uses a centered, top-down perspective emphasizing the quilt’s texture and colors. The mood is nostalgic and cheerful, with a photographic style that enhances vivid hues and a sense of storytelling adventure.
A collection of vividly painted wooden signs pointing in different whimsical directions—Peace, Adventure, Campfire—each sign weathered but cheerful, with swirling borders and stylized lettering. They’re planted at the edge of a winding dirt campground path lined with daisies and tall grass. Soft, radiant sunlight floods the scene from the side, creating dynamic highlights on the curves and vibrant paint. Shot at a shallow angle to exaggerate the signs’ playful tilt, bringing energy and curiosity to the photographic layout. The atmosphere is lighthearted and optimistic, helping to visually anchor the blog’s adventurous stories.

Colorful Beginnings

Spending my early years in a wandering hippy caravan in the 70s, I learned to listen, improvise, and find curiosity in every mile.
